Forget pillow talk, this raunchy Netflix show includes some serious pillow action.
Viewers of the streamer’s steamy new series “Obsession” have been left mortified by an X-rated scene showing a character humping a pillow.
The frisky four-part drama, released last week, revolves around William (Richard Armitage), a successful London surgeon who embarks on a sordid affair with his son’s fiancée, Anna (Charlie Murphy).
In the second episode, William follows Anna to Paris and checks into a hotel room that she has just checked out of.
Anna’s scent on the hotel bedsheets proves too much for William to bear, with the horny surgeon seen writhing up against one of the pillows before sniffing it as he furiously masturbates.
“I’ll be bringing my own pillow and sheets next time I stay at a hotel,” one horrified viewer remarked on Twitter after watching William’s pillow pounding.
“F–king hell was not expecting the pillow-sniffing w–k,” another viewer bluntly posted, seemingly stunned by the scene.
Others took to Twitter to hit out at the scheming surgeon for sleeping with his soon-to-be daughter-in-law.
“This man is a terrible father, husband, and all-around human being … My God … And the pillow did not deserve that,” they declared.
“Okay moral of this show is to never trust any man — they’d rather hump a pillow with a slight scent of another woman than remain loyal,” another chimed in.
Richard Armitage explained that the now-viral scene was improvised, as he tried to get into the mind of his lusty character.
“It was really unexpected because it was written as quite a different scene,” the actor told the Independent. “There was a tissue with her imprint of her lipstick on which we didn’t feel necessarily worked.
“I was really conscious that it shouldn’t be in any way comedic so we sort of left it quite open and it was a bit of an improvisation, actually,” he added.
Armitage further explained: “Charlie [Murphy, the actress who plays Anna] had — without me knowing — sprayed her scent that she’d been wearing throughout the shoot into different parts of the bed and I just got the sense of it, and that’s where the scene just opened. But the recording it wasn’t too planned, actually.”
“Obsession” landed on Netflix last week, but it hasn’t been well-received by audiences.
Pillow-humping aside, viewers have complained about the show’s plot and characters, with the series garnering a paltry 21% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
“Bloody awful! Pointless, heavy-handed and thoroughly un-erotic!” one lambasted.
